Friday Night

We continue to read all of the blog comments to Nikki and the cards that she and Brian are receiving. She is in and out of sleep but when awake she hears what is being said in the room and often has a one or two word comment. Our most important job is to keep her as comfortable as possible. Even in her final days, she is as lovely as ever. It seems to us that she continues to hold on to life and the love she has especially for Brian.

We know that there are many people reading this blog each day to keep up with Nikki's journey. It is important for you to know how much you are giving to us by your loving and compassionate comments. --- Barbara

Hey Nikki
I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have always known you to be one of the toughest people.
You know I was at the pool the other day and was going thru some old pictures in the office and found a bunch of pictures from old end of the year parties and I can't tell you how many year's worth of pictures there are of the "famous Nikki picture" that would be of you in the front of the girls shower covered in pie. Those were some times in my life I will never forget. Most of my memories at the pool, you are in all of them.

You are an unforgettable woman Nikki. Stay strong and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Nikki,
I don't know where to begin to tell you how special you are to so many people. I remember the day you came into my life. I remember how excited I was to see this lovely tall blonde beauty, we were preparing to do a fashion show for our doll event, and there you were tall, thin, and beautiful and what a smile you had. I must have had you try on all the outfits and you never complined. Since that day I don't think you ever said no to anything I asked you to do, and I asked a lot and some of the things were pretty silly. But you always did whatever you could to help, and no matter how many times I couldn't get that darn projector to work you would just show me again. You are such a blessing to all of your doll friends, and expecially to me, you are like my second daughter. I love you very much and I am so happy that Brian and you found each other, you are indeed a perfect match.
God Bless both of you.
All my love forever and a day, Billie

Nikki

Your news just came to me a few hours ago from Renae and then Stephanie. I was just thinking of the old pool days recently. We are going to do a penny toss for my kids birthday party next month. I wish we had kept in touch over the last 10 years.

Ah yes. The Pool Parties. We really did a lot of growing up in those days. You and I were side by side through out my Pool 4 carrier and much of our young adult life. We certainly had a special relationship.

Hey Nikki,

It has been far too long, but every once in a while when my mom says that she has seen you, or I hear the name of someone from the pool, I completely flashback to what are still the best summers of my life. A large part of that is due to you and the time that I spent with you. I have always looked up to you, you were always the woman that a girl dreams of being when she grows up! Your influence through a very large part of my life, definitely made my life brighter, happier and as always memorable. I am glad to see that you found someone who makes you so unbelievably happy, there is no one who deserves it more.

I know you are a woman who stays strong no matter what is going on, and enriches the lives of everyone around you. You are unforgettable and always loved. You are in the thoughts and prayers of me and my family.
Much love - Brittany Visser

Nikki,
From the days growing up around the pool hearing about you from David, to my early years working as a guard with you, you have always been the one whom I've looked up to. You are one of the strongest people I have ever met, and that has always been very apparent to anyone around you. You are in all of our thoughts and prayers here at the pool and you are truly an unforgettable person both at the pool and in life in general. All we've been talking about lately is how amazing you are and reflecting on the great times we've spent with you, and there are a ton of those great times! We all love you very much and pray for you daily!

Hey Nikki,

Just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking of you. I have countless memories of the pool and you are central to them. I, too, have been thinking of the picture of you in front of the girls' shower convered in pie. Those were fun times.

Thank you for being a the fun, energetic, upbeat and athletic person that you are.

Nikki - I know you were a VERY influential person in my life, both at the pool and beyond. You taught me so much about being a good employee and a good boss, which I know has helped me over the years. And yes there are so many pool memories which will never be forgotten...from the end of the year wedding gag gifts (for however many years that lasted) to the authoritarian Nikki benching everyone, to kicking your feet up on the desk in the office, to at least weekly (entertaining) arguments with Pete, to the staff updates where you loved to jump on everyone's back to teach the importance of escapes. among the millions of other memories. You always had a knack for teaching the new people and your charisma got everyone to follow your lead. I admire you for your courageous fight and know you will stay strong no matter what. I can continue to protect and serve in this world because your strength and perseverance are a constant reminder of what life is about. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. The entire Mountain View Police Department is praying for you too. God bless you!

Nikki -
I too wanted to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Knowing you as a strong willed and opinionated young lady (as a young lifeguard in the early 90s) to a strong willed an opinionated woman (these past few years) I know, of anyone, you have the strength to make the best of these days.

We regret for not having kept in closer touch with you most recently, but do know that Pete, Natalie, and I think of you often. We love you and wish you only the best.
